Masamune Dojo: Celebrating 40 Years of Health, Wellbeing, and Community Support
We are proud to celebrate over 40 years of supporting, inspiring, and nurturing individuals and families within our community. Our long-awaited new dojo, Phase 1, with a beautiful solid wooden oak sprung floor and spacious calm environment is now complete!. We are thrilled to offer a welcoming space for a diverse group of children and adults of all ages, cultures, genders, and abilities.
Phase 2
Phase 2 is already in the works, with plans for a dedicated disability-friendly toilet and support facilities to ensure everyone feels comfortable and included.
In addition to our dojo’s physical developments, we continue to expand our programs. We currently run Martial Dance including the Tessen Fan combined sessions for people with physical or mental disabilities, in collaboration with the Yardley Disability Resource Centre. We also offer our Safe Explorers initiative, which teaches children and young people how to protect themselves and others. Through this program, we promote values such as respect, compassion, discipline, sincerity, and understanding—the core principles of all our martial arts and sports activities.
At Masamune Dojo, we are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of those in need. We offer free membership and sessions for individuals facing financial hardship, ensuring that no one is excluded from participating in our programs. We also provide tailored one-to-one or small group classes for those with a range of learning difficulties offering personalised support and guidance.
Our dedicated team of 12 highly skilled volunteers and support coaches go above and beyond to empower both children and adults. Through teamwork, self-discipline, and personal growth, we strive to help every member of our community take control of their health, wellbeing, and happiness. Together, we are building a stronger, healthier community—one that thrives on mutual support and shared values.
